Fees
What are your current fees?
As of July 22, 2024 my fees are as follows for new clients. Existing clients will be seen at the current rate and will be notified of when any change will occur:
In-person therapy (locally in Laredo, TX in my office)-$125 per counseling hour
Online therapy-$100 per counseling hour (individual therapy for adults)
Individual work with minors: $150 per counseling hour (online) $170 per counseling hour (in-person)
Couples and/or Family Therapy: $135 per counseling hour (online or in-person)
Will the rates ever change?
I evaluate the rates every six months to determine whether there is a need for change. If there is a rate change, you will be given 60-90 days of notice either verbally and/or in a written fashion.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
I do not offer a sliding scale. I do offer limited spaces each month for a reduced rate. If you inquire about a lower rate because of financial issues, I may or may not be able to accommodate. If I am not able to accommodate this, I will try to offer resources to find help at the rate you are looking for.
Do you take any forms of insurance?
My practice is 100% private pay. This means I do not accept any forms of insurance. Please, look at the information at the below that describes the benefits of private pay counseling for clients.
Are there any advantages to private pay counseling?
Some of the advantages are listed below:
Expansion of mental health providers in your area that specialize in the services you need.
Flexible scheduling and availability
No insurance equals less documentation. This results in more quality time to focus on therapy.
You choose the therapist best suited to your needs rather than the insurance company telling you who to see.
Mental health diagnosis is not mandatory and not submitted to your private health records.
More services are allowed without restrictions such as online counseling and tele-counseling.
No limit on amount of sessions or time of your session.
You are guaranteed privacy and confidentiality.
Stigma of some diagnoses can often be avoided.
Private pay clients are able to choose the focus, duration, and frequency of therapy. You are even allowed to choose the length of sessions.
Research shows that clients who have to pay something for their treatment have more positive outcomes that those who receive free treatment.
You or your child won’t be labeled with a mental health diagnosis unless you request this type of assessment.
Insurance premiums and life insurance policies will not increase based of mental health diagnosis and treatments.
You won’t have to worry that your health records will be included in the MIB and create problems for you or your child in the future.
Do you provide a super bill for insurance reimbursement?
No, as a private pay therapist I am not an out of network provider (OON). I do not provide super bills for reimbursement. If you are trying to get reimbursement via insurance or another program, I will gladly provide you with receipts/invoices but I do not guarantee that you will be reimbursed.
